Jean Louise Homemade Candies, located in the picturesque beachfront town of Spring Lake, NJ has been family-owned since 1947. When you walk through the doors, you are welcomed by the friendly staff and reminded of simpler times – Jean Louise has all your old-school candy favorites including Turkish Taffy, Candy Buttons, and Salt Water Taffy. And you won’t be able to stop talking about the chocolate!
Current owners and newlyweds, Barbara and Jerry Benanti, are continuing the decades-long tradition of serving up a wide variety of hand-dipped chocolate candies made from only the finest ingredients. Barbara's parents were the previous owners and were adored by locals and tourists alike. In May of 2011 the decision to retire and sell the store was made. Barbara and Jerry, who graduated from FAU and Quinnipiac University with degrees in Marketing and Business management, purchased the store. Barbara practically grew up in the store and after Jerry finished an almost year long hands on apprenticeship, the couple bought the store and became the new owners in May of 2012!
Jean Louise’s milk or dark chocolate is a must-have at any holiday, family gathering, romantic evening or even just during a casual stroll through town. We offer over 80 different varieties of chocolate candies, each with its own mark. Our best sellers are our Sea Salt Caramels and our famous Butter-crunch. We are always happy to create custom orders just for you.
